Miss South Carolina USA Contestant Thanks Charleston Sponsors

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 23, 2009 -- April Rene Hegwood of Charleston, South Carolina, successfully completed competition in the Miss SC USA Pageant, held at the Performing Arts Center in North Charleston on November 20-21st, 2009.

Miss Hegwood is a 22 year old, full time student, Image Consultant, and Entrepreneur. Entering her Junior year, she is pursuing a dual college major of International Business Law and Languages.

April has been competing in swimsuit competitions, and other charity events; including Kelly Jo Dowd for Breast Cancer Research, for over five years. The Miss South Carolina USA Pageant was her first major level competition and she is "...extremely grateful to all of her sponsors for their dedicated time, emotional support, monetary support, and public relations efforts to make her experience a success."

Miss Hegwood states, "I was born and raised in Charleston. I love South Carolina and the hardworking people that make up our communities. I can think of no better way to honor them than by competing to represent our state of SC with dignity and grace."

It takes a lot of planning and execution to enter a prestigious, top level competition like the Miss SC USA Pageant. It also takes great Sponsors who are just as dedicated. Entering the Miss SC Pageant is more than just a 'beauty contest.' There is a four year scholarship on the line.

More than that, I was just so happy to participate in a production that includes the brightest and the best young women from all over South Carolina.
