Mississauga Businessman Richard Brzakala Named to Lead Ontario’s Organic Landscape Alliance

Toronto, Canada, - Applewood Acres Gardening & Landscaping and Applewood Property Management is proud to announce that its President Richard Brzakala, has been named to lead Ontario’s Organic Landscape Alliance (OLA) and join its Board of Directors.

The executive posting is subject to a membership ratification vote scheduled to take place at OLA's AGM to be held in late Frebruary 2010.

Mr. Brzakala draws on a wealth of personal and business experience from assisting in the operation and management of two highly successful private business ventures. He has gained considerable practical experience and knowledge relating to practices in the area of organic gardening, lawn care and responsible horticulture. In addition to his business experience in the organic industry, Mr. Brzakala has been an avid supporter of many environmental causes and local social charities as well as an outspoken critic of the pesticide and chemical industry.

In recent years, Mr. Brzakala has been actively involved in lobbying and petitioning municipal and legislative bodies to enforce stricter legislative controls around the use of pesticides.

In addition Mr. Brzakala has been extremely dedicated in the cause of educating consumers and other industry professionals on the importance of practicing greater environmental responsibility with regards to the environment and in how they address and manage green spaces.

The OLA provides professionals (including landscape workers, growers, arborists, parks staff and turf managers) the opportunity to network with leading experts in the field. OLA offers opportunities to learn about the latest organic products and techniques, and keeps its members abreast of the ever-changing legislative environment.
