HD footage was acquired for McDonald's for online video campaigns featuring US Winter Olympic Athlete Patrick Deneen recorded with Sony HVR V1U videotaping while recording to SxS HD with the PMW EX1 XDCAM HD cameras in Winter Park, Berthoud Pass, as well as in Denver Colorado.

The Sony V1U HDV camera provided excellent picture, ideal lens zoom, a smaller size making it a good lightweight HD solution for steep winter mountain terrain enabling the camera crew to get the best out of the HD video shoot. Larger 2/3 bayonet HD cameras would have provided to much size and weight in the steep slopes of Colorado giving the camera crew excessive weight and size challenges. The XDCAM also provided a great digital video HD picture as well with it's smaller sized body enabling the second cameraman on the crew other great close angles and alternate angles. Other ideal matches include similar set ups with Sony Picture profiles matching the 2 HD cameras for our Denver crew and post.

HDV tape based cameras are also gaining popularity as a tape recording backup, and can be docked to HD Flash Recorders like the FS-H200 Portable Compact Flash DTE Recorder (http://www.focusinfo.com/fsh200.asp) enabling high definition videotaping and recording at once making a HD tape archive onto HDV videotape, plus a HD signal recorded to compact flash cards enabling the camera crew to transfer Quicktime HD video on the spot to the producer, or editor as well.
