This Y tune technology in reality is cavity weight adjustment to make it safer to hit off of the toe of the Mizuno MX-100 Irons. So many of us amateurs come from outside in on our swings, or even inside to out. A good swing is 'inside-to at-to inside' and a repeatable one that does this takes a lot of work. Mizuno realized that the majority of miss hits (heel shanks excluded) are toe hits and have therefore fixed the weighting on these irons to even out the distance, so that even a toe hit sees minimal distance loss.

The MX-100 irons come in a set with hybrids replacing the four and five irons and cavity-back irons for the six iron through sand wedge.
