MLL Telecom Launches New LTE Backhaul Service
MLL Telecom Launches New LTE Backhaul Service
Unique managed service first of its kind in the UK
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) September 23, 2011 --
MLL Telecom has launched a new backhaul service for LTE networks, the first of its kind in the UK. The company created the new managed service to meet the growing demand for high speed mobile backhaul services that can cope with ever-increasing data traffic.
'The challenge is that LTE cells are now delivering data speeds of around 300Mbit/s and existing mobile backhaul services need to be scaled up to cope with the demand', said Richard Brandon, head of strategy at MLL Telecom. 'The new LTE backhaul service can scale up to 500Mbit/s or 1Gbit/s with cross-polarisation, but the speeds of the services can be tailored to suit customer requirements.'
The service is designed to complement and extend the reach of fibre, which is not always cost effective to install everywhere. By using microwave radio links to extend network coverage MLL is increasing the bandwidth delivered by LTE and increasing backhaul speeds for future years.
MLL Telecom is able offer this new service at a cost effective price as the company owns its own spectrum across the UK at 32GHz and 40GHz. It can also take advantage of its existing in-house radio expertise within its network operations centre, an out-of-band management system and a team of field engineers, to provide, plan and maintain the highly engineered links.
Gary Marven, COO said, 'The LTE links we have already installed are maintaining the high level of availability and resilience we experience from our our existing microwave links, so we are confident they will offer our customers the same high service levels they are used to.'
