MMR to cast a greener future for foundry industry

To untangle this problem, the events arm of Minerals & Metals Review is organizing a one-day seminar titled ‘Casting a Greener Future’ for the sixth time this year on July 24, 2010 in association with Trade India Fairs & Exhibitions (P) Ltd at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore. It will be held concurrent to the Trade India’s four-day event ‘Foundry Tech 2010’ scheduled from July 23-26, 2010.

The seminar will look into the status of foundry technologies world over and in India keeping in view the ‘go green’ mantra that has been the buzzing trend in the industry. The event would cover the world production and the Indian production of castings and the challenges, which lie ahead for the domestic industries.

It will also, discuss the preferred green options for Indian foundry industry and its impact on the small- and large-scale sectors. It will present the production of castings in organized sector and demand estimates of castings highlighting the different technologies for castings along with the raw material requirements.

The eminent speakers will throw light upon the foundry equipment, project financing with focus on future foundries and up-gradation towards green foundries, technology, etc. It will also include plant maintenance & engineering with some case studies on green foundry. The speakers will speak upon the role of government in industry restructuring and consolidation.

The seminar will draw together the foundrymen, technical and automotive engineering personnel, including the general management, technical management, plant management, purchasing & procurement, quality control, engineering, maintenance, research and many other industry professionals. It is a launch-pad for discussion on new products, technology and innovations with respect to the green technology in foundry industry.
