MNC Wireless Bhd Collaborate With Universal Music Malaysia To Benefit Japan Disaster Relief

(Free-Press-Release.com) May 4, 2011 -- As part of the effort to raise funds for the victims of the recent devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan, MNC Wireless Bhd (“MNC”) collaborated with Universal Music Malaysia (“UMM”) to release the “Songs For Japan” charity album digitally. In this collaboration, MNC will be sponsoring the online payment platform on UMM’s website to facilitate the sales of the “Songs For Japan” album.

“We at MNC are truly in support of using the power of music to help raise funds for the Japan disaster relief effort. MNC have worked together with Universal Music on various collaborations and this time, we are happy to be collaborating again with Universal Music on such a worthy cause,” said Mr. Chung Jaan Hao, Chief Executive Officer of MNC.

“The world has come together in unison. Some of the biggest artistes, producers and composers have lent their voices and talents in this specially compiled digital album ‘Songs For Japan’ in support of the recent disaster in Japan. The artists, composers, publishers and master recording owners have agreed to waive their royalties and all proceeds will be directed to the Japan Red Cross. Locally we are happy to have our partner MNC supporting this effort too – the power of how music and people can make a change,” commented Mr. Loan Cheong, General Manager of UMM.

“Songs For Japan” is a charity compilation album created by the music industry’s four main recording labels i.e. EMI, Sony, Universal and Warner to benefit the Japan Disaster Relief. The album features 38 tracks by various popular artists such as Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Katy Perry. Priced at RM32.90, the proceeds from the sales of the album will be directed to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
