Mock shark Attack! Are you investor ready? For inventors, entrepreneurs, innovators, artists!

If you have an idea, an invention, or a product and you want to see what it takes to obtain investment interest, then the Shark Attack event and workshop is for you.
This MOCK event will take place at the beautiful Williamsburg campus of Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) at 4601 Opportunity Way, Williamsburg, VA 23188 (opposite the Williamsburg Outlet Mall) on April 13, 2011, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. The event will be filmed by the Virginia Inventors Forum. It is a local event not associated with the network television show.

Inventors will have an opportunity to work with experienced professionals to prepare their presentations at a special pre-Shark Attack workshop on Wednesday, March 9 at 6:00 PM at TNCC. This workshop will help the inventor or entrepreneur to structure and refine their pitch or presentation to the Shark Attack judges.

On April 13, a distinguished panel of “sharks” will challenge the presenters in a Mock Shark Tank event. Our panel of judges – sorry, sharks - will include:

Mr. Gary P. Warren, Chief Executive Officer, ivWatch, LLC

Mr. Warren is a former Senior Vice President of Symantec Corporation and founder of IPX Partners. He brings more than 25 years of experience working with high-technology companies with a proven track record for creating successful organizations in rapidly emerging markets, developing and managing high-growth technology and venture-backed private companies, and managing private equity and evaluating businesses for merger and acquisition and investment purposes.

Mr. William M. Donaldson, President and Founder, Strategic Venture Planning. Mr. Donaldson’s vast experience includes taking a company public in a leveraged buyout, developing and licensing patents, identifying underserved market opportunities, developing investor relationships, and creating strategic business partnerships. He is the former President and CEO of Adaptive Energy, a technology startup that became the leading stress-based smart materials company in the world and a leading energy harvesting company.

Dr. Carole Cameron Inge, Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for the Commercialization of Clean Energy, Inc. (NICCE). Dr. Inge pioneered the development of clean-energy programs including the National Capital Clean Energy Incubator™, a mega incubator of worldwide contributors for clean tech and alternative energy initiatives, and the World Data Center on Energy™, which is designed to pool energy data from multiple sources to aggregate information and enable better policy decisions.

Award to the best presenter: Although we cannot offer the same prizes as the television show, the presenter whose pitch is judged the most likely to succeed will receive:
• A one-hour coaching opportunity with a well-known, highly successful local entrepreneur and investor to help prepare for a real-world investment challenge
• A $50 gift certificate to the restaurant of their choice
