Mohawk Towpath National Scenic Byway to Hold 8th Annual Duathlon

Clifton Park, New York, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) September 8, 2010 -- The Mohawk Towpath National Scenic Byway will hold its 8th annual Duathlon on Sunday, October 17, 2010 starting at 9 a.m. at Krause's Grove, 2 Beach Road, Halfmoon, NY. The Duathlon is a 2.2-mile run, a 16-mile bike and a 2.2-mile run to the finish. A moisture-wicking, 5th anniversary commemorative tee shirt will be provided to the first 100 registrants.

The entry fee is $25 for registrations made before October 8, 2010 and $30 for day-of-race registrations made before 8:30 a.m. Registrations are also being accepted for two-person teams with an entry fee of $23 per person before October 8, 2010. All participants are required to be USA Triathlon members. One-day memberships are available for $10.

A short, fun kids' race will be held at 8:30 a.m. The youth race will be on a 300-meter loop incorporating running and biking. The youth-race entry fee is $10.

The Mohawk Towpath National Scenic Byway is a network of local, county, state and federal highways that follow the historic route of the Erie Canal from Waterford and Cohoes to Schenectady, NY.
