Mojo Monkey Donuts is Open for Business in St. Paul

Now open to the rapture of patisserie enthusiasts everywhere, Mojo Monkey Donuts has begun cooking up all sorts of delightful donuts from scratch with all natural ingredients near the corner of Randolph and West Seventh in St. Paul.

Recently featured by the Star Tribune, Twin Cities Live and City Pages, Mojo Monkey Donuts separates itself by its dedication to detail. Unlike most bakeries, Mojo Monkey Donuts does not use mixes. All recipes are made fresh from scratch with no trans-fats. Customers are welcome to view the process every morning as they mix, bake and ice every donut served. Specialty donuts include classic cake donuts, banana fritters, maple bacon bars, French beignets and a peanut butter and jelly Bismarck even people with peanut-allergies can devour.

“Cooking is art, baking is science,” says owner Lisa Clark. “It’s a real challenge making bakery items consistently well. Scratch dough recipes take a great deal of research.”

Named after the evil-doer in the Power Puff Girls cartoon, Mojo Monkey Donuts began after Clark felt inspired by both her five-year experience baking at Breadsmith and her family’s passion for donuts. Armed with a business plan and having always harbored amicable feelings for the St. Paul’s West Seventh community, Clark immediately fell in love with the space previously used for Rudy’s Coffee.

Now repainted and revamped, Mojo Monkey Donuts is serving fresh donuts from Tuesday to Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
