Molton Brown launches UK site on ATG 9.1
Sceneric is pleased to announce the launch of the new Molton Brown UK website built on ATG
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 23, 2011 --
Selected by Molton Brown in January 2010, the project vision was to create a premium shopping experience in line with its market leading products built on the ATG platform and to deliver a UK website, a call centre powered by ATG Commerce Service Center (CSC) and a fully automated integration from web to warehouse.
Starting in March, Sceneric assembled a team of ATG resources to work alongside Molton Brown's IT, marketing, merchandising and finance teams to define the requirements and develop the solution through an Agile approach.
Visitors to www.moltonbrown.co.uk are now treated to a completely personalised experience driven by sophisticated targeting and search merchandising that allows Molton Brown to present shoppers with relevant content, promotions and product options which helps customers find what they are looking for more efficiently. ATG has been configured to put as much into the hands of the marketing and merchandising teams as possible.
Sceneric also deployed it's ATG Content Management (CMS) extension to allow Molton Brown to manage page content such as the HR online application process, returns process and contact us pages.
Site features include a rich Web 2.0 interface including:
* Personalisation under business control through content targeters
* Faceted navigation in catalog and search
* A rich cart to allow customers to add to cart and remain on page
* A streamlined checkout process
* Product quick view to allow customers to remain in catalog and view product details
* Product image zoom and multiple image sets
* Social integration to share product pages
* "People who bought also bought" using ATG Scenario technology
* Closeness qualifiers to inform customers that they are close to a promotion qualification
In addition to the sophisticated user interface, Sceneric also provided its ATG SOA module to provide a reliable, fast integration to Molton Brown's Microsoft BizTalk service layer to provide an automated straight through processing mechanism for:
* Price load via the BCC workflow
* Order fulfillment
* Order dispatch notification & card settlement
Additional technical features include an integration to CyberSource for payment card and fraud management services, Google Analytics and CoreMetrics for ecommerce metrics, Google Base API & Sitemap for SEO improvements and Share This for social integration.
As well as the development, Sceneric employed specialised resources to build an infrastructure based upon a virtualised private cloud supplied through Rackspace and installed a sophisticated monitoring mechanism to proactivly monitor server metrics.
"The Sceneric team demonstrated their expertise of the ATG platform and we were able to go live with the UK site within 8 months."
David Rutherford, Group Finance Director
"We are proud to have worked with such a prominent luxury brand as Molton Brown to extend its luxury experience to its online customers."
George Brandie, CEO, Sceneric
About Molton Brown
In 1973 Molton Brown opened at 58 South Molton Street in London's Mayfair as a hair salon for discerning clientele. London was very much in love with synthetics, but here came a brand with something different: artisan, individual and Natural with a capital N. While nearly 40 years have passed since inception and the scale has grown substantially, the same ethos and passion upon which the brand was founded still flows through the veins of the company. Now a widely recognised and respected luxury brand, Molton Brown creates products for home, body, skin, men, hair, travel and gifts. These are distributed in more than 80 countries worldwide through 60 emporia, two websites, world-class department stores, premium hotels and airline partners, airports and spas. In 2005 the company was purchased by Kao Group, the world’s 7th largest manufacturer of cosmetics and consumer products, with a remit to expand its successful premium proposition globally.
