Mommy Alert teaches parents of ADHD children strategies to make homework less time-consuming and stressful.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 7, 2011 -- Parents who have children with ADHD are often frustrated by the lack of support and services available, particularly in the educational arena. For families of a child with ADHD, help is available through the services at MommyAlertADHD.com.

“Our teachers have experience with ADHD children in the classroom and also as private tutors,” said Sharlene Alexander, founder and CEO of MommyAlertADHD.com. “We select our teachers based on their experience working with ADHD children and their ability to explain information so that it is coherent and easily understood. Our prep session was developed through extensive research, including group seminars, speaking with teachers and resources from experts in the fields of education, child psychology and medicine.”

Alexander began tutoring children with ADHD while still in high school and found that her techniques were successful. She saw a need for services and resources for kids with ADHD. She founded MommyAlertADHD.com. and dedicated the site to helping kids with ADHD and their parents.

Mommy Alert provides a prep session for youngsters in grades K-8, created to provide solutions to the many challenges children with ADHD encounter, such as reading comprehension and writing. Mommy Alert connects parents online with teachers who have the specialized knowledge and skills necessary to develop strategies for learning that are specifically designed for children with ADHD.

During the 90-minute prep session, areas where the child is struggling are targeted, including memory, organization, reading, test preparation, spelling and math. A child with ADHD can easily become overwhelmed with homework, and Mommy Alert provides ways to make tasks less stressful and time consuming for ADHD students.

Based on the needs of the child and their grade level, parents are paired with a teacher and an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is created to address the child’s needs. Sessions are held Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. EST, and on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. EST. Scheduling is conducted online and at the parent’s convenience. All parents need is a webcam to speak with the Mommy Alert teacher. A packet will be assembled and emailed to parents with the topics, goals and strategies discussed.

ADHD and traditional classroom routines don't always mesh. Most instructors are not familiar with strategies for ADHD, learning ADD and classroom ADHD. The child with ADHD is often misunderstood and receives poor grades due to a lack of understanding and time constraints. It’s difficult for teachers to spend the extra time needed to provide ADHD help when they have classrooms of 20 students or more.

MommyAlertADHD.com offers a wide variety of school strategies and ADHD help for children with school difficulties. ADHD can cause severe learning problems for youngsters. The services at Mommy Alert helps children and their parents develop techniques to reduce stress and frustration, while providing them with the tools they need to succeed academically.

MommyAlertADHD.com can be reached by phone Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. EST at 914-274-8222. They can also be reached by email via the convenient form on the website. For more information, visit the website at http://www.mommyalertadhd.com
