Colin Montgomerie has described his recent visit to Afghanistan to help support British troops as a "life-changing trip".
The ex-Ryder Cup captain was recently reunited with some of the soldiers at the annual PGA fundraising lunch in London, where one of the donations included a £25,000 cheque to the charity set up in memory of Montgomerie's mother. (Mizuno Men's MP-69 Irons)
"I was honoured to have been given the opportunity to represent the PGA along with (captain) Eddie Bullock and (ex-captain) Parnell Reilly," said Montgomerie.
"The memory of teaching the youth of downtown Kabul how to swing a Mizuno Men's MP-69 Irons is one that will linger.
"All these children have known is war - they were born in war, they remain in war, they know nothing different."
