http://www.morganstjames-author.com St. James, co-author of the comical crime capers in Silver Sisters Mysteries says that even though cozies are basically humorous with not a lot of “blood on the floor,”—in other words descriptions of the requisite murders generally aren’t described in gory detail—that is no reason they can’t be thrilling. When she and her sister launched their series with "A Corpse in the Soup" they agreed that their amateur sleuths would have the advantage of mobility, and chose locations and professions that would not confine them to one small town. That was followed by "Seven Deadly Samovars," and they are in the process of finishing the third manuscript, "Vanishing Act in Vegas."
In her own work, the Silver Sisters, identical twins Goldie Silver, an over-the-hill flower child who owns an antique shop in Juneau, Alaska and Godiva Olivia DuBois, a wealthy, manipulative Beverly Hills widow who writes the syndicated advice column “Ask G.O.D.,” frequently get into hot water, and the action takes place at a fast pace. The addition of their eighty-year-old mother and uncle, retired vaudeville magicians, adds a unique flair as the oldsters dress in disguises and go undercover. She and her real-life sister write long distance. St. James enjoys the sunshine of the Los Angeles and Las Vegas areas, while her sister, Phyllice Bradner, relocated to Oregon after spending over thirty years in Alaska.
St. James will draw the panel members into discussions of what elements make a mystery thrilling, how do they conceive their plots and what does the future hold for them.
She is a a member of multiple writers groups both in L.A. and Las Vegas, frequent panel member and moderator, and also presents full writers’ workshops. In addition to participation in this panel, she will be a workshop presenter at the upcoming Las Vegas Writers Conference in April and the Public Safety Writers Association conference in June.
