Morris County Arts Workshop (MCAW) hosts Fundraiser this Sunday, June 5, 2011-Special guest - comedian Jim Breuer

(Free-Press-Release.com) June 1, 2011 -- CHESTER, NJ– The Morris County Arts Workshop (MCAW), a non-profit organization which brings after-school art, music, language arts, and cultural programs to youth and seniors to Chester, Mendham and surrounding areas, as well as an arts-based summer camp, announces its annual gala / fundraiser will take place on Sunday, June 5, 2011 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Flanders Valley Banquet in Flanders, NJ.

Tickets are still available for this event with special guest comedian, actor and former Saturday Night Live cast member Jim Breuer. MCAW recently sponsored Breuer’s soon to be released documentary, “More Than Me,” about his often hilarious and poignant experiences while on a comedy tour of the country accompanied by his 84-year-old father.

Themed “A Midsummer Night’s Dream-in the afternoon,” the event is an annual celebration of the arts. This year’s venue will showcase performances by students and teachers as well as a 50/50 raffle and silent auction items including free MCAW classes, autographed artwork and guitar, a weekend getaway at a local bed and breakfast, local business gift baskets and certificates, artwork, and so much more. Scholarships for graduating high school MCAW student teachers will also be awarded. All proceeds go toward the development of new programs, scholarships and MCAW’s building fund for the creation of the Home for the Arts in Morris County.

About the Morris County Arts Workshop

Founded in 2003 by Jane Shatz, a Juilliard School of Music dance alumna and Chester resident, the Morris County Arts Workshop (MCAW) is a non-profit group created to nurture and promote the love for the arts in children of all ages. The program is community based and offers a wide variety of classes from musical instrument lessons to voice to painting to yoga to language and martial arts. Classes are currently held in Chester and Mendham public schools. There are two sessions per year which culminate with a special Showcase performance and art display in the fall and spring.
