ATLANTA – Morrison Management Specialists is proud to have been named one of Training magazine’s Top 125 for 2010, a list that includes Fortune 500 companies and leading businesses from many different industries. The company is honored to have earned this distinction and to be the only contract food service company so recognized by Training magazine.
Training magazine is the learning industry’s top publication which annually selects top companies that excel in the training of their employees. Morrison was named to this prestigious list, which includes such noted brands as Bank of America, Microsoft, Continental Airlines and McDonald’s.
“The Training Top 125 companies not only provided stellar training in the face of continued economic adversity, but detailed their efforts in our most comprehensive and rigorous application to date,” said Joyceann Cooney-Garippa, Training’s group publisher and show director.
The Top 125 includes ranking based on myriad benchmarking statistics, such as total training budget, percentage of payroll, number of training hours per employee, goals, evaluation, measurement, and so on. The Top 125 ranking is determined by assessing a range of qualitative and quantitative factors, including financial investment in employee development, the scope of development programs, and how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives.
In order to be selected for this award, Morrison had to demonstrate how the company uses employee training on a regular basis to drive customer satisfaction. The company showcased examples of such initiatives as the Morrison Mentoring Program, Morrison Manager Orientation and the Daily Meeting Guide program – all to exhibit that education and training are integrated parts of Morrison’s culture.
“Learning and training of our associates is an ongoing process at Morrison,” explains Tony Leggio, director of learning at Morrison Management Specialists. “The training we provide our employees directly impacts our people, which in turn affects the quality of our food and service, and therefore gives us and our clients great results. We are continuously looking for dynamic, innovative solutions for our business, and training is one of our most effective tools.”
