MotivatEd and Premiership Rugby launch groundbreaking rugby games website to inspire school curriculum learning in children

November 23, 2011

E-learning specialist MotivatEd and Premiership Rugby launch Rugbee (www.rugbeeground.com) - a National Curriculum-linked rugby-themed online entertainment zone for children aged 7 to 14.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 23, 2011 -- Rugbee features fun rugby-themed games, activities and adventure quests that support school learning in mathematics, language, science, geography, and history. It also helps to develop knowledge in valuable cross-curricular competences such as nutrition, health, citizenship, teamwork, and digital literacy.

As well as containing comprehensive learning materials for teachers and pupils, Rugbee also encourages parental involvement, giving mums and dads an ideal opportunity to share their love of rugby with their child, whilst at the same time offering valuable educational support and encouragement.

Achievements in Rugbee are rewarded by virtual currency prizes that allow children to purchase STAR Premiership Rugby players for their own playable dream team - adding a strong motivational element to the online learning experience. Friends can play online matches against each other and also take part in competitions, leagues and cups.

Wayne Morris, Head of Community at Premiership Rugby, said:

“Rugbee is an exciting extension of Premiership Rugby’s community activity, providing teachers with high quality resources and helping students improve their literacy and numeracy in an engaging and fun way. We are delighted to be working with MotivatEd to use the strong appeal of rugby to help raise academic achievement.”

Phil Clegg, CEO of MotivatEd said:

“I am thrilled to be working with Premiership Rugby and to be harnessing the huge excitement and appeal of Rugby Union to engage children in curricular learning. The relentless advance of technology means that more and more children spend time on the Internet playing games. Our aim with Rugbee is to encourage constructive use of this recreational time to boost academic growth, improve access to health information, and to increase interest in playing rugby.”

Rugbee can be accessed at www.rugbeeground.com

End.
