Motivational Speaker Speaks on Bouncing Back
Motivational Speaker Speaks on Bouncing Back
Motivational speaker and sales trainer Scott Love shows sales teams how to bounce back.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 3, 2010 --
According to management consultant and motivational speaker Scott Love, sales professionals must master the core competency of resilience, even more than some technical aspects of sales such as closing skills. "When you look at those achievers who are consistently the top producers, they are measured by their sales performance, which means that they have to bounce back quickly after rejection or after their deals fall apart."
Love believes that most sales managers fall short of teaching their team how to bounce back. "Managers spend most of their time training their teams on how to sell but neglect a far more valuable skill: the skill of bouncing back after defeat." Love believes that just like closing skills or prospecting skills, this is something that can be learned. "All aspects of sales is skill-based. Which means that anyone can learn it."
During his presentations, Love shares with sales teams the mechanics of resilience. "I teach systems thinking. I show sales teams that sales is a system, that bouncing back is a system. Through certain questions that they ask themselves, they can put themselves in a state of peak performance and get back on the phone when they don't feel like it."
A simple resilience exercise is for a sales representative to ask themselves this question once a sale falls apart: How can I still make money from the effort I put into this transaction? When sales people start asking themselves solution-oriented questions, they quickly find answers and solutions.
Love offers free articles and videos on his website, http://www.HowToBounceBack.com. He speaks at corporate sales meetings and association conventions as a keynote and breakout speaker.
