Well I did have a pair of Gerbing’s Heated Gloves that kept my hands warm , but they didn’t fit my hands and were too bulky and after using We all know riding motorcycles is very rewarding, enjoyable and for some that’s all we think about. When it comes to a cold weather riding motorcycle a lot of the enjoyable feelings are taken away because of the cold.

If your like me and have a hard time keeping your hands warm ( don’t have usually hot hands) then this is going to be a good investment for you. I could never keep my hands warm and I was looking for good pair of motorcycle hand protectors or motorcycle hand deflectors, SOMETHING what could fit my Harley handlebars them for 2 months the thumbs melted. And the other reason I didn’t like heavy motorcycle gloves was, it made my hands cramp up or it made my fingers so big I could not hit the correct controls on my Harley handlebars.
The first design came from the pockets I cut off a tool vest I designed. This was one of the first ideas of motorcycle hand warmers. The reason I like this design was I could still see all the controls around the motorcycle handlebar grips. Your hands appears as in the pocket, but yet you can see your fingers and controls and motorcycle clutch.

I like wear summer pair gloves all year around and I like the feeling of my motorcycle grips, so I have made Knuckle Warmers with 3 different levels of protection , light / medium / heavy . I first started using light weight pair and found it very affective. I like to ride with a light pair of leather motorcycle gloves, so when it started getting cold I would install the Knuckle Warmers on the handlebars of the motorcycle instead of putting on a heaver pair of winter gloves, thus not changing the comfort of riding with a light leather glove.

So your hand may still feel the temperature change but will stay with-in a comfort zone. If you ride year around then I would suggest buying the medium to heavy weight ones, if you’re a selective day rider riding in the winter months then the light weight pair would do just fine, I have a pair light weight winter gloves that I use in the coldest weather using the light weight Knuckle Warmer.

There is an adjustment period that a rider must go thru when first using any pair of motorcycle hand deflectors or motorcycle hand protectors. Same thing is in the use of Knuckle Warmers. First, the rider will tend to knock off the Knuckle Warmer from the handlebar grip, if the user has a very large hand they may want to consider the “Snap “ fasting devise instead of the “ Cup “.
Second, the rider must adjust to the hand sliding into the Knuckle Warmer and having the cloth of the warmer pressing against the rider’s hand.
I have found and have talked with people using the Knuckle Warmer’s that this adjustment period varies with the rider about a week for a person that rides each day and could take up to a month for a person that only rides once or twice a month. Part of the adjustment period is learning how to fasten the Knuckle Warmer onto the handlebars.
