Johannesburg International Motor Show Basic Information

The Johannesburg International Motor Show, also regarded as JHB Motor Show , takes place between 6th -16th October, 2011 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa. It is the single largest international automotive event in Southern Africa. The frequency of the show is once of two years. It runs in conjunction with two additional shows, 'Auto Shop' and the 'Johannesburg Truck Show', which collectively offer a complete representation of the motor industry, serving Sub Saharan Africa and South Africa as host country.

MP4-12C will debut at Johannesburg International Motor Show 2011

The world's newest sports car company, McLaren Automotive on Friday unveiled the MP4-12C at the Johannesburg International Motor Show. This is the first time the MP4-12C was made available for viewing to the general public in South Africa since November 2010. Attendees to the JHB Motor Show 2011 will be among the very first in South Africa to be able to get up close and personal with the stunning MP4-12C. Drawing on the company's long-standing Formula 1 experience, the 12C is the first pure McLaren production road car.

McLaren has officially unveiled the highly anticipated McLaren MP4-12C 2011. The McLaren MP4-12C is a two-seat mid-engine model. It has a cosmic power to weight ratio of 455 bhp/tone attributed to its lightweight automotive component and carbon-fiber body. The key idea behind such speed of this car is the low weight, high power concept. This model can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 3.3 seconds and customers can even opt for a high performance tire if they want a faster acceleration of 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and top speed surpasses previous models as it can reach up to 205 mph.

As a race car, it is expected to be one of the fastest and has the most powerful engine of all. When developing the McLaren MP4-12C, the engineers were focused on reducing weight, so the car features a Carbon MonoCell, light brake system & parts, lightweight exhaust pipes, an airflow-assisted airbrake and a small and compact engine.
