Mr Clutch says drivers take a risk by not getting cars checked
The UK's leading clutch, gearbox and brake specialist is urging drivers to make sure their cars are roadworthy.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 30, 2012 --
Mr Clutch, the UK's leading clutch, brake and gearbox specialist, says that thousands of drivers are risking accidents and prosecution by driving vehicles that aren't roadworthy.
According to the firm, many people are unknowingly driving vehicles that have worn or broken parts which are in need of repair or replacement. It says that not only as well as risking prosecution for breaking the law, these drivers could be risking their own safety and the safety of others.
Mr Clutch says faulty brakes, car exhausts, gearboxes and tyres are among the most common problems that get overlooked or go unnoticed. In order to avoid such issues, Mr Clutch says regular vehicle servicing is a must for all owners.
"If your car works when you need it to, it's very easy to think everything that is working fine," a spokesperson for Mr Clutch said. "While innocently missed, issues with brakes, exhausts, gearboxes and other parts could lead to avoidable accidents or breakdowns. It's vital that all drivers take the responsibility of vehicle ownership seriously by getting a regular car service or asking a trained expert to investigate unusual sounds or dips in performance."
As specialists in gearbox, clutch and brake replacement, Mr Clutch has seen its fair share of vehicles come in with worn or faulty parts. It says that for some, the anticipation of a hefty repair bill is enough for them to ignore minor issues. However, as the spokesperson confirmed, this could be a false economy.
They warned: "The trouble with ignoring a minor problem is that it will eventually escalate into a much bigger, and more expensive, one. It could even have a knock-on effect to other vehicle parts and lead to a series of costly problems. Plus, a car that is being run with damaged parts is unlikely to perform efficiently, meaning higher fuel costs."
