Mr. Matthias Al-Amiry, 45, re-joins the Raffles family as General Manager for the Raffles Beijing Hotel. An established professional with over 20 years of experience at prestigious international ultra luxury Hotel companies such as Ritz Carlton, Peninsula and most recently Rosewood Hotels & Resorts in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America, Mr. Al-Amiry brings extensive knowledge and expertise of the hospitality industry to Raffles Beijing Hotel (http://www.raffles.com/EN_RA/Property/RBJ/). Prior to his new assignment, he was acting General Manager of Al Faisaliah, A Rosewood Hotel Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia directing 700 staffs. During his tenure Mr. Al-Amiry was responsible for the day-to-day operation and played a critical role in the creation and development of Al Faisaliah`s new South-Wing extension. Under his leadership the Hotel firmly established itself as the leading Hotel in Saudi Arabia and set the Kingdom’s new standard for luxury with a combination of service excellence and stylish comfort.

Beginning his career in 1989 Mr. Al-Amiry rose progressively into more senior roles before he joined Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage and was subsequently promoted to Director of Food and Beverage. Mr. Al-Amiry continued to pursue his career as Director of F&B and F&B Team leader Europe at the helm of the leading international brand property - Raffles Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, when it was part of the Raffles portfolio. He then joined the acclaimed Peninsula Manila as EAM i/c Food & Beverage while his position was expanded and he was appointed to the position of Resident Manager.

Mr. Al-Amiry, a graduate of the well-respected Hotel Management School Heidelberg in Germany, married with one son Maximilian, loves sports and collecting art. His wife Margret Ann is an artist and graphic designer, who graduated from University of St. Thomas in the Philippines, while she is currently planning to continue her studies at the China Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing.
