Mrs. Global America US 2010 Marisa Thomas is named Woman of the Month by Womenof.com

Marisa, an adopted child, is a native of Bronx, New York. Her dynamic life journey of overcoming the odds against obesity, homelessness, depression and abuse has empowered countless individuals not to give up on their personal goals in the face of obstacles. After an eleven-year bout with obesity, Thomas, 33, lost 102 pounds the old-fashioned way through healthy eating and regular exercise during the past two and a half years.

In July, 2009 Marisa released her exclusive bio health story entitled, “From the Depths of Obesity to National Beauty Queen”. Since then, she has been featured on the Channel 4 News Morning Show, TBN Praise the Lord, Positive Living Network Blog Talk Radio, Baptist Health Care Connection, Facebook, Twitter, BlogSpot and now, Womenof.com.
