East Lansing, Mich.-- One of Michigan State University's most popular courses, the New Media Drivers License course, has added a new team member to its teaching staff. Richard Cole, from the office of Advertising, Public Relations & Retailing at MSU, announced yesterday that Google Online Sales and Operations Manager Michal Lorenc will teach the course along with current professor Derek Mehraban.
The course, which is rather new, focuses on teaching young advertising students the ins and outs of the new social media outlets, and how to use them in their everyday lives, as well as how to incorporate them into a business setting. MSU advertising senior David Weight speaks to the importance of the new class: "Social Media is the wave of the future, in the advertising market, and this class is giving me a proper introduction to information that I need to know."
Lorenc, who has worked for Google since 2003, has worked in the online advertising industry for twelve years, and currently is working to expand sales and accounts to Canada. Lorenc has already successfully established a Google Regional Office in Poland and now in Ann Arbor, where he currently works. His presence, and wealth of experience, should be a boost for a already successful program.
The exact semester that Lorenc will assist on has yet to be determined.
