It is widely used in installation, optical testing, and maintenance and fiber attenuation value testing in data, CATV and telecommunication networks.

This optical talk set, model C0240001, operates at a wavelength of 1310 nm or 1550 nm. It integrates functions of both a digital optical phone and a stabilized light source in one unit. It carries out full-duplex communication with a high quality connection over an exceptional communication distance and has low background noise. Online communications is also available when used together with an optical clip-on coupler. It provides a transmission distance of up to 80 km and an output power range from -5 to -7 dBm.
The optical talk set offers FP- LD emitter and FC/PC optical connector. The modulation frequencies include 270 Hz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz and CW. It is powered by rechargeable battery providing 5 hours continuous operation and has an adaptor power supply as well. In addition, it provides a large back lit LCD display and low battery power indication.

This multi-function optical talk set belongs to GAO’s family of Optical Telephones.This line also includes another similar product High Performance Optical Talk Set which is used in the maintenance of optical fiber communication networks and CATV and also can be used as optical light source.
