Mutamba Projects International Benefits From a Facebook Connection that Becomes a Significant Entrepreneurial Lesson.

Nov 27, 2009 - Lucia Kudielela Fernandes, Founder and General Executive of Mutamba Projects International, throughout the assignment and after several conversations with her client, Guenny K. Pires, a filmmaker, during his stay in Atlanta last weekend, realized that an ordinary work assignment turned into a significant entrepreneurial lesson. This lessons will help her have a dynamic attitude on the next project that she is managing. Ms. Fernandes is in the business of helping others get organized, and promote their ideas, works, career, and business.

Lucia states “Everything started when we made the connection through a social networking website, Facebook. I was impressed by Guenny K. Pires and Txan Film Productions & Visual Arts, Inc. work.” Eventually, Mr. Pires requested the services of Mutamba Projects International, a project management of organizational development firm, founded and managed by Lucia. She took on the project about six weeks before the event. In fact, Atlanta was a roughly new market for Guenny K. Pires, as he is based in Los Angeles, CA and originally from the island of Cape Verde, West Africa. He wanted to share his work not only with the Cape Verdean community in Atlanta, but also with other peoples that could be at the film screening on November 20 and 21, 2009. Guenny’s films focus on history, culture, and social themes of Cape Verde Islands, African Diaspora, USA, and Latin American Community.


During the planning phase, Lucia contacted old connections, posted flyers around the city of Atlanta, and made announcements online. She states, “We wanted to assure success of the event.”

The event was promising as many people showed interest. Lucia says, “I was honored to be working with an award winning filmmaker, since he had a lot of good things to share.”

Lucia informs that after the event Guenny K. Pires expresses his contentment for the outcome. He was able to share his work, and passion with many people. Guenny kept on saying “We are always in a battlefield. It could be worse or better. The most important thing is that we did it”.

Finally, Lucia quotes, “We should continue to do what we love to do with passion and dedication. After working with Guenny K. Pires, I am inspired to take on the next project. Regardless of the outcome, it will be a result of my work.”
