In July 2010 MXI Security became the first USB manufacturer to receive CESG CAPS certification for the Stealth Key M600. CESG introduced CAPS to enable private sector companies to develop cryptographic products for use by Her Majesty’s Government and other appropriate organisations. Providing independent evaluation that cryptographic products meet Government standards, CESG then formally approves their use by UK Government agencies and the wider public sector.
Gerard Reusing, MXI Security’s London-based President, stated: “Having MXI Security receive CAPS certification signifies that the UK Government understands the importance of securing data while maintaining portability. Government agencies and organisations now have access to technology that provides a totally secure way of protecting their most sensitive data.”
7 months on since then, MXI collaborated with Hypertec (a valued MXI partner) and together have won and delivered several successful projects such as Blue Light Services and UK HMG departments, both of which are based around the highly secure Stealth Key M600. MXI continues to lead the way in this level of security, through constant dedication to developing new and innovative technologies tackling data security threats head on.
Breaches of computer system security and theft of data have become a threat to almost any person and any entity - private business, trade organisation, state or government agency. One of the most recent incidents this year was the case of Ealing and Hounslow councils where they were fined £150,000 collectively by the ICO after the loss of 2 unencrypted laptops containing sensitive personal information were stolen from the employees’ homes. If the customer records were stored on an M600 hardware encrypted USB and were sub sequentially lost or stolen, they data would remain protected on the device. Employees now have the ability to protect their digital identities and data wherever and whenever, satisfying multiple security needs with a single device. Not only do MXI Security devices provide true zero-footprint portability in any environment that supports USB mass storage, but go even further by offering transparent, hardware-based, encryption. MXI continues to satisfy consumers through demonstrating once again consistent innovation with solutions like Stealth Zone - Secure Portable Desktop and the newly released ACCESS Enterprise 4.0 Management software with optional Server.
MXI remains committed, to providing the highest level of protection available against theft or loss of confidential information. MXI promises to deliver to their clients, the most innovative and secure solutions for mobile computing that also offer superior functionality, manageability and provide peace-of-mind.
