My Mad Methods Magazine, a publication dedicated to unconventional training methods like kettlebells, sandbags, heavy clubs, and more, has announced a special military-focused edition for the June/July issue. This special Military Edition will include workouts, physical testing, and other information relevant to military personnel provided by soldiers, professional trainers, military contractors, and more.
“With both appreciation and admiration of our fighting men and women, we wanted to dedicate an issue of the My Mad Methods Magazine to the physical training they must endure to prepare their bodies and minds for combat,” said Mark de Grasse, owner and editor of the My Mad Methods Magazine. “We were fortunate to have many contributions from both soldiers and fitness trainers who work directly with the military.”
One of the principal contributors of the Military Edition of the My Mad Methods Magazine was Marine Corps Sergeant, Aaron Guyett. Aaron Guyett trains a group of soldiers and civilians out of his gym in Costa Mesa, California called Innovative-Results (Innovative-Results.com). The issue features a summary of his Warrior Training boot camp as well as information about his upcoming Warrior Training Commando Course III event (a 12-hour endurance event featuring a USMC-style PFT, a modified CFT, and a modified Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol with OPFOR) set for August 2011. The DVD included with the magazine also features one session of his Warrior Training group class.
The Military Edition also features a variety of articles and workouts involving kettlebells, bodyweight training, sandbag training, grip strength training, exercising in high-heat conditions, an 8-week pre-boot camp diet plan, and several more topics. Each article was written by a soldier or certified trainer in order to help people build strength, endurance, and tough bodies for both military personnel and civilians alike.
Contributors to the My Mad Methods Magazine June/July 2011 include Aaron Guyett, Jonathan Celis, Tom Furman, Scott Sonnon, Trent Bender, Ron Morris, Mark de Grasse, Nico Rithner, Casey Kramer, Angel Otero, Joey Alvarado, Aaron Wolf, Sincere Hogan, John Wolf, and more.
In addition to being the first issue available in both a published version and online version, the My Mad Methods Magazine Military Edition will also be made available to a number of deployed soldiers for free.
“It was a blast putting this issue together, I got to speak with a ton of different soldiers that had a wide range of experiences and loads of information to contribute,” stated Mark de Grasse. “I believe that everyone who reads it, both soldiers and civilians, will benefit from the information they contributed to this special edition of the My Mad Methods Magazine.”
