My-Newborn-Baby-Care.com is throwing down the gauntlet to experienced moms. By participating in their online contest, moms not only have a chance of winning a $20 gift certificate, they can greatly assist expectant parents in their quest to make an informed decision regarding breast feeding or bottle feeding.
Do you remember all of the thought and preparation that went into the weeks and months preceding the birth of your first child? There were so many things to research, so many decisions to make: "What type of labor do I want?" "How will I decorate the baby's room?" "What things does a baby really need?" "What kind of parent will I be?"
Perhaps one of the most highly debated decisions an expectant parent must make is in regard to their method of feeding. While current scientific research clearly lands on the side of breastfeeding, many mothers choose to formula feed their newborns. What causes a parent to choose one method over another? Is it health? finances? convenience? social pressure? How satisfied are they with their decision?
My-Newborn-Baby-Care.com is dedicated to assisting new and expectant parents to prepare for, survive during, and thrive in those first months with a newborn baby. To aid these parents in making informed decisions regarding newborn baby care, they have launched a contest challenging experienced parents to share the stories of how they arrived at their baby feeding decision.
"Nothing beats a real person sharing a real story about how a decision played out for them," says Laurie Grismore, founder of My-Newborn-Baby-Care.com. As an experienced mom expecting her 9th child, she relates the value of the advice she received before and after the birth of her first child. "I am so grateful to the experienced moms who were there to encourage me through those moments of uncertainties (and believe me, I had plenty!). It's great when someone confirms that you are doing the right thing, or when they give a solution that you have never considered."
That is the goal of this contest.
Judged by a trio of "mommy bloggers", this contest is seeking "original, well-written, true stories that will be beneficial to parents faced with this decision". Not only will the entries provide valuable information for expectant parents, the top two contest entries will win a $20 gift certificate to an online store.
The baby contest ends August 31, 2010. For rules and directions, go to http://www.My-Newborn-Baby-Care.com/baby-contests.html.
