(Nashville, TN) Monday, May 10, 2010 – Myers Point at Sewanee, an exclusive craftsman community under development in Franklin County, Tennessee, will hold its first open house of 2010 on May 15 and 16. Visitors are welcome to tour the 24-lot luxury development between 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday and from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Sunday according to local developer John Currier Goodson.
“I have known and loved the Myers Point property since I was young. I loved to hike there because of how much peace it gave me,” explains Goodson. It was a dream come true when l met Miss Ina May Myers and circumstances allowed me to purchase the property. It has been a labor of love to create the framework for a lifestyle community like no other.”
The Myers Point Open House coincides with The University of the South’s graduation weekend. Goodson acknowledges the date was selected because of the high interest in the property from university alumni, faculty and parents.
“We had a quiet open house last fall,” explains Goodson, “But we are looking at 2010 as the real ‘coming out’ party for the property. With the current reduced rates on mortgages and the incredibly low cost of building by exceptional local craftsmen, this is the time to build a legacy property in Sewanee.”
Myers Point at Sewanee offers a rare and limited opportunity to become one of 24 homeowners enjoying a 480-acre private, gated community located on land adjacent to the University of the South Domain and overlooking Lost Cove and Champion Cove. The uniquely located property, with its old growth forest, waterfalls and panoramic bluff views, has been put into a permanent conservation easement during the recently completed Lost Cove Campaign conducted by the University of the South and the Land Trust for Tennessee.
Potential homeowners may chose between home sites ranging in size from 2 – 6 acres; all with either bluff frontage or lake front acreage located in the residential area of Myers Point named The Community. The 355 acres of common area includes three stocked lakes, a community barn, a fire pit, walking trails and resting benches located along the lakes and bluff in The Community as well as 330 acres of forested land along the bluff side known as The Park.
Work in now underway to complete the last of three lakes and to finish the buried cable and utilities in The Community. Future open houses are scheduled for the weekends of July 3, August 21, October 2 and November 3.
