Buea, Cameroon – April 7, 2011: MyGlobalPay, Ltd, a leading provider of core banking, mobile banking, and other cutting-edge technologies to the financial industry in developing countries, today announced that it has named an experienced team that will be responsible for building Africa’s largest mobile banking network.
“We need an experienced team of executives to help us attain our goal of creating a continent-wide mobile banking network,” said Professor Januarius Jingwa (JJ) Asongu, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MyGlobalPay. “We are pleased that these very talented individuals have agreed to work with us. The team is made up of people from different nationalities and having a broad range of related work experiences. They have also been trained in some of the best universities in Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America.”
MyGlobalPay was able to build the team thanks to the fact that it tapped into the pool of experienced employees in the two companies from which it recently acquired their mobile banking licenses. However, some of the exclusives came from completely unrelated companies. Here are the new executives:
Vice President of Business Development: Mr. Stephane Toklome is responsible for generating new business for MyGlobalPay. He has worked for United World Telecom System, where he was a trainer for SAP-IPES. He also worked for Exonmobil, serving as Financial Support Services Supervisor on the Cameroon-Chad Pipeline Project. He comes to us from Cameroon General Services where he was the chief executive of the company. He holds an MBA from the Master Education Institute of Dubai (United Arab Emirates), BSc in Business Management (Operations) and a certificate in Supply Chain and Logistics from the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences in Ndjamena, Chad.
President and Chief Operating Officer – East and Southern Africa: Mr. Michael Asola is responsible for all MyGlobalPay activities in Kenya, Zimbabwe, and the rest of the Eastern and Southern African regions. He is a telecommunications engineer with a sound grounding in the emerging technologies. He is the founder of a licensed CDMA telephony company and has ran Pneumatics Kenya Ltd, providing IT solutions for Telcos. He has studied at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Kenya.
President and Chief Operating Officer – West and Central Africa: Ms. Valerie Lekeufack Fonkem is responsible for MyGlobalPay activities in the West and Central African regions. She is coming from Chartered Financial Assistance (CFA), where she has been the Marketing Director. Prior to that she served as a Project Officer with Future Worlds in Nicosia, Cyprus. She holds an MBA in Marketing from Americanos College, Nicosia, Cyprus, and a BA in Mass Communication with a concentration in Advertising from the Advanced School of Mass Communication (ASMAC) of the University of Yaounde I, Cameroon.
Vice President of Technical & Customer Service: Mr. Romel Kapwa is responsible for the deployment of our cutting-edge solutions and for handling technical issues from both our corporate clients and individual customers. He comes to us from our sister company, Chartered Financial Assistance, where he was the Director of Information Technology and was responsible for setting up the IT infrastructure of the company, and for deploying their core banking and m-banking solutions. He holds various IT certifications.
“We are confident that this new team has what it takes to make MyGlobalPay the leading provider of mobile banking services in Africa,” said Asongu. “MyGlobalPay recently acquired an exclusive license from TreasureCom Financial Holdings to provide the CaribPay Mobile Universal Network throughout Africa. At the moment we’re talking to potential partner banks and MFIs in Cameroon, Chad, the Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, and Zimbabwe, and we welcome interested partners throughout the African continent.”
