December 4, 2011 Weight Loss news in Olathe,Kansas, United States of America

Coach Marlin McQueen encourages Americans to avoid sugar and add exercise to lose weight.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Olathe, Kansas, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) December 4, 2011 -- In the fitness industry, coaches who follow their own advice have a strong influence on those they train. That’s why coach Marlin McQueen recently altered his diet to cut out all sugary sodas, and reduce his calorie intake by 1500 per week. McQueen realized that part of the growing obesity problem in America is caused by overeating and high sugar consumption. He’s since lost 10 pounds, 2% body fat, and has gone down one full jeans size (after 20 years in the same size.) He's proven to his clients that weight loss can be achieved through a three-step process.

“It seems like every day I see a new headline about the growing problem of obesity in our country, I and wanted to do something to help. I thought an easy way to set an example would be to cut out sugar from my diet, as well as lower my calorie intake. I’m finding that not only have I set an example for those who I train, but I actually feel better, too,” said McQueen.

The Center for Diseases Control and Prevention (http://www.cdc.gov) estimates that around 66% of Americans are overweight or obese, with much of the problem being blamed on poor diet and lack of exercise. McQueen also says that the amount of soda, sugary drinks (even diet drinks) and foods with high fructose corn syrup are only making the problem worse. He recommends a three-step plan in order to get healthy and in shape.

1-2-3 Steps to Health

The first step to getting healthy through McQueen’s plan involves improving nutrition. Replacing sugars with whole grains and vegetables, in addition to cutting out sugar-filled beverages will jump start metabolism and place the body in fat-burning mode. Second, McQueen recommends short strength-training exercises to get the body ready to burn calories. This can include weights or resistance band training. Last, McQueen recommends a 30-45 minute cardio workout several days each week, to be done after strength training exercises.

“It takes commitment, but this three-step approach to getting healthier will work. It’s worked for me, and I know that anyone who’s determined to cut out the sugar, improve nutrition and get moving through exercise will also see results,” said McQueen.
