The lawsuit will be filed in a Los Angeles Superior Court.

The complaint will reflect that after the DePuy hip system was implanted in our client, she began to experience significant pain, movement, discomfort, and irritation until she had to have a subsequent revision surgery.

The DePuy ASR hip replacement system has an extraordinarily high failure rate. On August 24, 2010, DePuy issued a national recall of the ASR™ XL Acetabular Hip System.and the DePuy ASR™ Hip Resurfacing System. DePuy Orthopaedics recalled all of it metal-on-metal hip replacement devices in August 2010.

There is at least a 13 percent revision surgery rate with these systems.

Because of this high percentage of revisions, the metal-on-metal hip replacement system has been recalled. Additional problems have been component loosening, component misalignment, infections, fractures, dislocations, pain, and mental sensitivity.
