Napa Valley Artist Introduces “Spirit Rocks” a Unique Art Genre

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 17, 2012 -- Calistoga, CA - January 17th, 2012 - Christopher Sullivan, a Calistoga artist http://unlockyourspirit.blogspot.com/ will have a one man show and reception at the St. Helena Public Library, 1492 Liberty Lane, St. Helena, California from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm on Wednesday, February 1st.

Sullivan creates original art in a little known genre which he calls “Your Spirit Rocks”. The show will feature posters of his spirit rocks with paintings of his previous work in the background.

“Your Spirit Rocks” are all carefully selected and gathered by Sullivan from a remote spot on the Pacific. Next begins the transformation into works of art. In their final form, the rocks are know for their incredibly intense, rich, brilliant colors and intricate designs.

Your Spirit Rocks are available directly from the artist and he describes them as follows: “These rocks have been imbued with all sorts of good feelings, hopes. wishes and love. When you are feeling blue, take a rock out and hold it under a bright light for a minute. Then take it to a quiet, dark place where you can watch it glow brightly.”

All “Your Spirit Rocks” are hand-painted, they glow in the dark and no two are exactly alike. Many people use them as meditation devices.
