NASA Satellite Data Graphed and Interpreted to Help Caribbean Farmers

Annapolis, Maryland, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) October 18, 2011 -- Since 2000, the Environmental Data Rescue Organization (IEDRO) has been helping communities around the globe rescue and digitize historic weather. In August 2011, IEDRO’s Manager of Site Operations, Teddy Allen had an opportunity to meet with the National Food Crop Farmers Association (NFFA) in the southern Caribbean island of Trinidad. The goal was to assess the specific needs of local farmers and to disseminate data to their farming community. If adequately informed, farmers can save enough grain to supply their families during dry years.

NFFA members were interested in the possibility of combining modern NASA satellite technology with their current knowledge to produce a better understanding of intra and inter-annual vegetative variability.
