Dr. Ricky Huffines and Dr. Michael Oakes of Nashville, TN provide dental implant services to the truly needy residents of the Domincan Republic on a dental missionary trip recently.
Dr. Ricky Huffines & Dr. Michael Oakes of HUFFINES OAKES DENTAL CARE”implant, cosmetic, and general dentists in Nashville, TN”recently spent extensive time on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. From January 25-27, 2013, the Dr's joined a team of highly trained implant surgeons to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic to offer missionary services to underprivileged Dominicans.
Along with other health professionals from across the United States, Dr. Huffines & Dr. Oakes performed numerous dental surgeries on its residents at the University Clinic of Universidad Federico Henriquez y Carvajal. Some of the surgical procedures provided were bone grafting, extractions and the placement of dental implants.
The pan-Dominican medical mission was led by renowned dental implant instructor Dr. Arun Garg of Implant Seminars, current president of The American Dental Implant Association, ADIA.
Dr. Huffines & Dr. Oakes and other dentists donated over thirty hours of surgery each over three days.
For the Dr's the experience was truly amazing! The results of dental implant technology can alter not only a person's smile and appearance, but also increase the simple ability for people to be able to chew and eat properly.
