FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) September 23, 2009 --
Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) September 20, 2009 -- Karem E. Mieses announces the official launch of the NAPW Jacksonville Local Chapter with this message: http://www.napw.com [NAPW] "our mission is to provide the most exclusive and advanced forum for members to find like-minded women to create innovative social, professional, and business relationships. We provide our members knowledge and information about varied industries and professions and generate the opportunity for our constituency to interact, exchange ideas, educate, network, and empower." Karem continued, "When I search on the NAPW website and found 130 amazingly talented members in the Jacksonville area, I took to heart this mission and decided to start this chapter in Jacksonville."
The objective for our group is to have a forum to meet and network with a great bunch of professional women, as well as the opportunity to promote ourselves and talk about whatever is important to us (your business, hobbies, passions, etc.). The goal is to promote, so that members source their needs/requirements for products or services from other fellow members or at least that we give each other a fair chance to compete. As our Local Chapter growth and matures, your ideas will be incorporated to have our objectives and our goals as a unit that is why a survey that I'm passing around is so important. After today if you have ideas or comments to share, feel free to call me or e-mail me.
The discussion had the objective of educating small and mid-sized business owners and decision makers on the risk and effects from any unplanned outage (downtime) grow with each additional critical application, network enhancement or system upgrade; and, to illustrate the consequences of sudden or unexpected disasters affecting the IT infrastructure of major cities and businesses. A general overview was given on ways to mitigate, eliminate or minimize as cost-effectively as possible the risks and effects of unplanned outages on the business to have assurances that information assets--data and applications--can remain available no matter what happens.
A small survey was taken from the attendees on the subjects of organization of the chapter, expectations, involvement, volunteering and general ideas to make a successful chapter relevant to the majority of the members. The NAPW members who attended were; Cammie Thomas of Exit Realty, Emlyn Jackson of Winn Dixie, Eva Marie Chavis-Cumming of Fidelity National Title Group, Grace Staten of MassMutual/Financial Design Associates, Lori Williams of Zurich Insurance Services, Melissa Compton of Benchmark Design Group, Pamela Weister of R3 Properties, Sharon Mills of Watson Realty, Stella Sigfusdottir of the SPA at Ponte Verda Inn & Club.
