ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA (March 2, 2011) -- Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment (PAVE) invites communities across the country to participate in their inaugural national walk in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAMM) on April 30, 2011.
The National PAVE Walk to Shatter the Silence of Sexual Violence is both an opportunity for people to come together in their community and for communities to come together nationwide to raise awareness about sexual violence. This unity can create and strengthen a national voice about a national issue.

http://www.ShatteringTheSilence.org “We are really excited about this opportunity to work with advocates, activists, and allies from across the country to shatter the silence of sexual violence", said Christopher Watson, PAVE Program Director. "PAVE has fostered many amazing relationships over the past 10 years and Sexual Assault Awareness Month is a great opportunity for us to be involved with communities working against sexual violence."
PAVE also wants to help participants raise donations for a favorite local charity by giving them half of the proceeds. Through the national walk donations, local charities and programs that are committed to supporting the victims of sexual and domestic violence and ending these crimes benefit as well.
The toolkits put together by PAVE make this event simple to organize and implement in your town or city. The kit includes buttons for walkers, poster, flyers, sign-up sheets, media guide and all other essentials needed for the walk. The deadline to order the toolkit is March 15.
