National School Bullying Speaker visits East Texas Schools

Tyler -- Free-Press-Release.com-- May 6, 2011 -- In his school assembly presentations, school bullying speaker Fabian Ramirez uses personal stories to raise awareness about bullying on school campuses nationwide.

Fabian was the keynote speaker during the Student Success Mini-Conference that the school hosted on May 4, 2011.
Fabian was bullied in middle school so his message runs deep and students learn firsthand the emotional scars that bullying can leave on a person.

“I remember I hated school, I didn’t want to live, and I didn’t want to succeed” Fabian said while addressing the student body at Kilgore Intermediate School in Kilgore, Texas.

The event had various breakout sessions for parents and students which included: peer pressure, tobacco awareness, mean girls, internet resources and sylvan/learning RX.

In addition to the mini-conference, Fabian spoke to three hundred third grade students about school bullying. During the presentation Fabian called on volunteers to share their knowledge about bullying.

“Students know what bullying is and they know how it can hurt other students” said Fabian after students shared their thoughts on bullying. Every student that spoke was cheered on by classmates.

Students were engaged by Fabian’s humor and storytelling that they eagerly volunteered to speak in front of their peers. The assembly concluded with a question and answer session where Fabian was able to speak from his heart about how he felt when he was bullied.

There are numerous laws in Texas that protect students from being bullied. Cyberbullying is huge and it is now considered to be a part of the definition of bullying. If their child is being bullied, a parent can now ask that their child be transferred to another school or campus. All school districts must look into the matter and take steps to prevent bullying.

“I applaud you Kilgore for being proactive instead of reactive when it comes to your students and bullying by inviting a youth speaker such as myself to partner with you as we look to eliminate bullying one school at a time” Fabian said as he finished each of his presentations.
