National Test Equipment has completed its ISO 17025-2005 , ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 , and ANSI/NCSL Z540.3 assessment by A2LA . Quality Manager, Brian Valenti and Lab Manager, Steven Clifton met with A2LA auditor Klaus Jaegar on Mar. 22nd 2011 to begin the audit.
According to Jaegar: “The review of all the checklists progressed very rapidly thanks to the in depth and succinct documentation that makes up the management system. Ms. Anna Escarcega, Mr. Brian Valenti and Mr. Steve Clifton were able to answer any open questions and provide outstanding documentation. My congratulations to the management for providing the resources to establish a first class management system that meets all the requirements as dictated by the ISP and ANSI standards as well as the additional A2LA documents.”
Regarding the scope of the accreditation, Jaegar went on to note: “On the technical side, the laboratory chose, at this time, to list only DCV, DCI, R, ACV, ACI parameters even though their capabilities go way beyond that. For these standards the main traceable instruments are the Fluke 5720A calibrator and the Agilent 3458A DMM… …Considerable time was spent on the uncertainty budgets, mainly with Brian. Only minor corrections were required as the overall process is well in hand as both Brian and Steve understood the requirements and mathematics. It should be very easy for the laboratory to add parameters in the future.”
National Test Equipment’s official certification from A2LA is currently pending final review but is expected to pass by the end of April 2011.
