NATIONAL YOUTH MARKETING AGENCY HIRES NEW VICE PRESIDENT CLIENT SERVICES AARON C. SMITH
Premise Youth Marketing, which specializes in integrating brands into youth culture. Announced that Aaron Smith has passed the “cool kid” test and joined the team as VP of Client Services.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 3, 2009 --(San Diego, July XX, 2009): Like the cult classic movie “Big,” Aaron C. Smith, who has spearheaded the re-branding of such established companies as “Maybelline New York,” Mail Boxes Etc. (now UPS Store) and SHARP Healthcare, must be a child in an adult body. Well, not literally.
Yet, having an “I’m a big kid now” mentality is a must at San Diego-based Premise Immersive Marketing, which specializes in integrating brands into youth culture. Today, Premise announced that Smith has passed the “cool kid” test and joined the executive team as the vice president client services.
“I’m not really a fan of titles because each team member is so integral to every campaign,” said Gregg Witt, creative director and founding partner of Premise. “We thought about calling Aaron ‘honorable dictator,’ but decided ‘vice president client services’ suits him better. He’ll be like the teacher on ‘yard duty,’ overseeing our efforts to positively impact the youth market and engage and retain young consumers for our clients.”
As honorable dictator vice president client services, Smith will lead all client accounts and projects, while ensuring that the entire Premise team follows one of the company’s mottos: “Success comes from having fun … (and working smarter).” In addition to implementing tactical plans and serving as a mentor to junior team members, Smith will take on the same roles that every Premise employee does, such as playing house DJ and reporting what he had for lunch on the company’s “Ramblings of Immersive Marketing Geniuses” blog. (Today, he had an “everything” bagel with spicy hummus and cucumbers.)
Although some client projects at Premise will require him to recall the attitude of his 13-year-old self, Smith also has 13 years of marketing experience to draw from. His previous positions include acting as the director of sales and marketing for Route56Homes, an affiliate of Prudential California Realty, and the director of operations for Sunwest, a non-profit youth sports organization based in San Diego. As the previous vice president, client services for Kenneth C. Smith Advertising, Smith produced national advertisements, including three Super Bowl commercials. He has also served as a senior account executive for Gotham Inc. in New York, where he worked on accounts, including Liz Claiborne Inc. and Clairol Hair Care. And he has been the director of real estate for Glacial Energy, as well.
Smith is a graduate of the University of Missouri, School of Journalism – Advertising Sequence.
“He’s a big kid, but Aaron’s isn’t a juvenile when it comes to work experience. He has a lot of impressive and relevant accomplishments, too,” continued Witt. “Both components are equally essential at Premise.”
When not at work, Smith said, “I enjoy long walks on the beach … ok no.” Smith, when not being a jokester, enjoys wakeboarding and snow skiing. He is a longtime volleyball player, who has served as a volleyball coach at the high school and Junior Olympic levels over the past 10 years. A San Diego resident since the age of two, he is also a practicing vegan (“mostly for health reasons, not because I’m a PETA crusader,” Smith added) who loves red wine and a great micro-brew.
