Nationwide expansion for Ark Complex Care

November 25, 2011

Care company aims to recruit 100 home carers nationwide

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 25, 2011 -- Ark Complex Care (part of the Ark Home Healthcare group of companies) is set to recruit over 100 personnel in the next six months, following its successful launch earlier this year.

With a highly experienced management team, and already employing over 50 carers, the Wolverhampton-based operation has had an outstanding start since it was introduced in April 2011. Ark is now aiming to recruit a further 100 carers across the UK.

The company offers carers the opportunity to be trained in skills across the complex care spectrum and is particularly looking for personnel to fulfil the increasing number of ventilator dependent, spinal cord and brain injury referrals it is receiving.

In addition Ark has created a nationwide team of community nurse specialists and care managers to support its care staff and is also looking to expand this team of professionals.

Commenting on the division’s success, Ark Complex Care operations director Sharon Lane said: “We are so pleased that Ark’s approach to providing the highest quality home care to those with complex needs is being so thoroughly embraced by the commissioning bodies, our clients and their families.

“We recruit carers, personnel assistants and nursing staff, and provide bespoke training, specifically for individual clients’ needs. By doing so, we can ensure every client has the very best care in place and that it is tailored exactly to their requirements and desired outcomes.”

Since its own formation in June 2010 Ark has set about delivering the very highest standards in care and innovation in service delivery to the UK home care market. With substantial investor backing and home care management expertise, it has also invested significantly in new administration technologies to ensure consistent quality and efficiency standards across all of its operations.

Initially Ark’s Complex Care division managed care packages for clients in North Yorkshire and the West Midlands but now it has care teams working across the country including locations such as Cornwall, the Midlands, Shropshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire.

Sharon Lane adds: “As well as being able to demonstrate the cost-effectiveness of our services, we have been able to show a number of commissioning bodies how flexible Ark is by recruiting carers to meet the exact needs of some very complex care packages and at very short notice too.

“We have been fortunate in that we have already attracted some very high calibre nursing and care staff; this is largely due to our commitment to training and career development – areas that are hugely important to Ark – but we are on the lookout for lots more.”

Ark provides Complex Care for people who need long-term, continuing or substantial care because of a disability or chronic illness, or following hospital treatment. It helps both adults and children with profound disabilities and health conditions such as acquired brain injury, dementia care, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, neurological disorders, paediatric services, palliative care, spinal cord injury and ventilator dependence achieve maximum independence in all aspects of their lives.

Case study

Ark provides complex home care for Matthew Leadbitter

34-year old Muscular Dystrophy sufferer Matthew Leadbitter has just (14th November 2011) returned to his Warwickshire home after 12 months to be cared for by his family and a team of specially trained carers provided by Ark Complex Care.

Having undergone surgery at the end of 2010, Matthew had been in hospital and then a residential care home 30 miles from his family, while decisions were made about the provision of care for him.

Wolverhampton-based Ark Complex Care has been appointed by Warwickshire Primary Care Trust to assist Matthew and his family.

“We are so pleased that Matthew can now be where he wants to be which is with his family, and he has the independence that only being at home can give him,” commented Ark Complex Care operations director Sharon Lane.

“Matthew’s condition means that he needs specialist nursing care and we have been working very closely with him, his parents and the Care Trust to ensure we have exactly the right team of nurses, carers and personal assistants in place. Every single member of the care team has been trained specifically to Matthew’s requirements.”

Ark Complex Care employs care assistants nationwide; it recruits and trains teams to manage long term care packages for clients with conditions from across the complex care spectrum.
