Native American Film To Screen at the Southern Appalachian International Film Festival

(Free-Press-Release.com) October 7, 2009 -- Morning Song Way, a full length feature motion picture has been chosen as an official selection for the Southern Appalachian International Film Festival sponsored by East Tennessee State University. It will play on campus at 7 P.M in the Roger-Stout building room 118 on Tuesday, October 27th. Virginia actress Glenda Bean will attend the screening as will the film's director.

Morning Song Way is the story of a little girl who witnesses a murder in the city, testifies against the bad guy, and is placed for safety in the mountains with her great uncle, a Native American medicine man. Once there, she begins to learn an ancient healing society practice called morning song way. She helps to revitalize a small community and touches the hearts of those around her. Then the bad guy gets out of jail and comes after her. The films stars Jennifer Redbird,Elvus Kishketon, Jr.,Glenda Bean, Jeff Anderson, and tawnee rain. It has won 12 film festival awards so far in a rough cut version including best actor, best actress, best feature film, best screenplay, best cultural film, audience choice and rising star. Rough cut versions of the film have screened at The Indie Gathering-Ohio, IIFVF-New York and L.A., Delray Beach Film Festival-Florida, Southern Winds Film Festival-Oklahoma, The Native American Film festival-South Carolina, The Cherokee International Film festival-Oklahoma, and The Top Ten Films In America Festival-Virginia. This will be the first time that audiences will see the completed version of the film which came out of final post in September. There is no word as of yet as to whether actress Jennifer Redbird and friends Miley Cyrus and Brooke Hidde will attend.
