NC Senator Richard Burr goes on record supporting adult use of Ecigarettes - Opposes FDA Ban
Welcome visit Our WebSite:
http://www.ecigmax.com I have contacted many government offices regarding Ecigarettes and the FDA's current attempt to ban them. Today I received a call back from NC Senator Richard Burr's office and spoke to his assistant for a while. Richard Burr's assistant confirmed that the Senators office had received correspondence from me regarding ecigarettes and the issues surrounding them. The Senators office was calling back to state that Senator Burr's position on ecigarettes is that they should be kept legal for adult use and also that the Senator shared my concerns about over-regulation by government agencies such as the FDA . In summary, Senator Richard Burr's position is to leave ecigarettes alone and as they are - an alternative to tobacco for adults - so long as they are not sold to minors.
I was very pleased to speak with the Senators assistant and mentioned that there is an estimated upwards of one million ecigarette users currently. I also spoke of the large, vocal online community of 'vapers' that are very concerned with the FDA's clear intent to elimanate, ban or otherwise make ecigarettes unavailable to adults as a tobacco alternative. The aide said that he would forward that information to the Senator and I get the feeling that the Senator is genuinely concerned about this issue and favors the adult use of ecigarettes for those that choose to do so.
Senator Richard Burr's contact information is as follows and I strongly urge anyone who shares a concern over an ecigarette ban in the USA to contact him and express your views. It is of utmost importance that public officials that support ecigarettes are utilized fully in order to give voice to the many adults currently using ecigarettes as an alternative to tobacco.

With this case, the FDA is attempting to classify ecigarettes as a combination drug-delivery device and as such, regulate them under the Food,Drug and Cosmetic Act as a new, unapproved DRUG. If the FDA prevails in this ruling, then all ecigarettes made or sold in the USA will have to comply with the FDA guidelines for DRUGS and ecigarettes will be immediatley classified as 'Unapproved New Drugs'. Ecigarette companies and products as currently manufactured and sold could never meet the stringent requirements, that include multi-year clinical studies to provide safety data, that any new drug most undergo before being approved by the FDA for use in the USA. The FDA has stated in writing to at least 5 small AMERICAN ecigarette companies that when the FDA begins regulating ecigarettes as drugs, if these companies continue to try and manufacture/sell e cigarettes then those companies and their properties will be subject to invasion, search and seizure of all products by the FDA at any time - with no prior notice. It is my opinion that the FDA knows full well these companies or any ecigarette company will not be able to comply with the FDA new drug requirements and that is exactly why it wants to classify ecigarettes as drugs. Because that will allow them to quickly ban the product in the USA. The FDA could regulate ecigarettes as a tobacco product which would allow them to continue to be sold mostly as they are - with additional FDA oversight as to safety lableing and packaging but FDA chooses not to do so. Ecigarettes active ingredient is nicotine which is derived entirely from tobacco and they are indeed a tobacco product in the eyes of many but not the FDA. The FDA position on ecigarettes is most clearly stated on the FDA website itself - here -

So with that being the current legal state of ecigarettes in the USA and as a person who finally quit a 37 year tobacco habit with the only thing that ever worked - ecigarettes, I give a heartfelt Thank You to Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina. Once again I strongly urge concerned individuals to contact Senator Burr and to contact your representatives and elected officials whenever and wherever possible to express your views. Let us not forget, it is OUR COUNTRY.
Thanks,
Ralph Woodin for ECIGMAX and adult vapers everywhere!
