NETGEAR, a worldwide provider of technologically advanced branded networking and storage products, has revealed the Middle East release of four new 12- and -24-port NETGEAR ProSafe Gigabit L2+ Managed Switches with PoE+ connectivity. The latest additions are perfect for companies and organizations that require intelligence at the network edge and are also extremely cost effective components with converged voice, video and data networking solutions. In line with the company’s move towards consolidating its leadership in the region, the new line of ProSafe managed switches are being offered with a lifetime hardware warranty, 24/7 telephone technical support and three years of free online service.
Dubbed as ‘Intelligent Edge’ switches, the new line includes the ProSafe GSM5212P, GSM7212F, GSM7212P and GSM7224P models. Users and channel partners will find these new models as strategic and highly reliable units to power mobility, VoIP and surveillance solutions by attaching wireless access points, IP telephony equipment and IP video cameras. The new range of power switches are priced reasonably and are accompanied with ‘industry first’ features that make them more reliable, affordable and simple to deploy than offerings from traditional big IT companies.
The GSM7212F is the world’s first distribution switch with 12-port fiber and PoE+ capability, ideal for campus deployments. Meanwhile, the GSM5212P is world’s most affordable 12-port gigabit Ethernet switch with PoE pass-through capability, which is highly suited for deployments with power outlet location challenges. All units come equipped with automatic IP phone recognition and VLANs with QoS configuration via LLDP-MED; an optimized real-time video streaming support through IGMP filtering, querier and multicast VLAN registration; layer 2+ support, including 16K MAC and 64 routing interfaces and support for SNMP management software such as the NETGEAR NMS200 Network Management System. The 'Intelligent Edge' line also offers the world’s first selectable mini-USB console interface, a built-in alternative to legacy serial ports and cables.
“Many IP telephony and IP camera deployments are still limited to Fast Ethernet switching, which enterprise vendors push on midmarket organizations because their Gigabit and PoE+ offerings are cost-prohibitive,” said Ali Ahmar, Regional Director ME - CBU, NETGEAR. “Underscoring our commitment to smart IT, not big IT, NETGEAR Intelligent Edge managed switches now deliver reliable, affordable and simple Gigabit technology backed with lifetime support.”
