Network Marketing: Classic Self-Help Guidebook Revisited!
Nancy Collins is a member of a global group of internet marketers studying the principles taught in How To Win Friends & Influence People, by Dale Carnegie.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 7, 2009 --
Ms. Collins has been keeping us abreast of the teachings, and is ready to share the next leg of her experience.
“Every week I am amazed at how simple and common-sense this all is, but yet how seldom we use these principles!”
Ms. Collins explains how we should dramatize our ideas. Observing how this is demonstrated for us on a daily basis. “Advertisers don’t just tell us how their product is better or different than the competition, they show us.” A picture is worth a thousand words!
She goes on to tell us to challenge people, as well as ourselves, to perform better. “Everyone likes a challenge, and they respond by trying harder to produce what is requested of us.”
Ms. Collins continues by discussing how, if the situation ever arises that you must correct someone for a mistake they have made, begin with praise for things they have done well. How you should show honest appreciation for their efforts and past performance. Only then, should you move on to the issue at hand. “People are more likely to respond in a positive manner when they are approached in this way.”
She is particularly fond of the suggestion to make every attempt to call attention to people’s mistakes indirectly. Don’t just say “Hey, look at the mistake you made.” Try to begin your conversation with praise for things they have done well, then move on to the issue. Avoid using “but” as this has the effect of negating the praise you just gave. Something like “Great job with the utilization report Susan, it was extremely detailed and I’m sure you can do the same with the waste report as well.”
Ms. Collins then moved on to the last principle for this week which is to talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person. “This one should be easy, as who among us has not made mistakes in the past?” This will help people to be more receptive to suggestions as they see a fellow human who is also capable of making mistakes. She comments how this one is particularly handy for your Internet Income Opportunity.
“This book is not merely for people in an Online Marketing Business Opportunity. The principles discussed are just as relevant to everyday life: communications with friends and family alike.”
Ms. Collins is writing a series about the principles she’s learning from the book, and is also producing short videos on the same principles for her Direct Sales Marketing business.
“I find myself thinking about these principles a lot. It’s surprising just how many times in a day you can work these into your life.”
She will be updating the posts 5 times a week, so check back regularly for more insights.
You’re welcome to visit her site, and just maybe it will help you to improve the relationships in your life!
