Networking and Community Activism focus for Mississippi Greek Weekend 2009

Mississippi Greek Weekend (MGW) 2009 is a festive event that will take place September 24-27, 2009 in Jackson, MS. The highlight of this event will be our unified front into social action, the first annual Saturday of Service. Our aims are to provide an occasion for members of Greek organizations to come together to execute this tremendous undertaking in our capital city’s community, network with other members from the various institutions across the state, and of course, have a good time. Last year's MGW was well supported and we expect to surpass it with this year’s effort.

Along with the networking and social opportunities afforded with this and similar events, the Mississippi Greek Weekend 2009 will provide the similar principle which is found in all Collegiate Greek Letter Organizations: Service to the Community that surrounds us.

Other cities in the United States, such as Atlanta, GA see in excess of 10,000 visitors in their city for the Atlanta Greek Weekend. More specifically, in the state of Mississippi, the city of Hattiesburg experiences similar numbers for its Que-Delta Weekend. These events have a major economic impact on the respective cities, all in the name of executing the principles each respective Greek organization was founded upon.
MGW 2009 needs your support and the support of each campus in the State, Greek and non-greek organizations, and the governing bodies of Greek organizations.
