New Album - DJ Fresh Presents The Tonite Show Starring Lil Rue

The Legendary DJ Fresh has teamed up with the up-and-coming west coast rapper Lil Rue for a new album of original material titled "The Tonite Show". The project, which was announced three months ago, will hit stores today and is set up to be one of the most prominent West Coast hip-hop releases of the quarter. The lead single for the project titled "Turnt Up" is available now at LilRue.com and the fan-generated dub video for the song on youtube has already received thousands of views. The two also recently performed some of the album's songs to a packed house at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, CA.

This collaboration is not surprising as DJ Fresh is known for working with the hottest Bay Area artists on his Tonite Show series which he produces himself along with his production crew The Whole Shabang. As Lil Rue's stock has continued to grow this year in the Bay Area rap scene, it seems to make perfect sense that he would join Fresh for a Tonite Show project the same as other artists such as Yukmouth, J-Stalin, Hoodstarz and many others have.

Fresh is a true legend in the world of DJing. He has DJed on tours for Nas, Common and Raekwon and won a number of awards and placed in national DJ competitions. DJ Fresh is also known for producing high-quality full-fledged projects for artists as exemplified with his Tonite Show series. Prominent Bay Area rappers such as Keak Da Sneak, Messy Marv, and Yukmouth have starred on the Tonite Show albums and Fresh has positioned himself as a heavy hitter in Hip-Hop with his thorough production and quality album promotion.

Lil Rue has been steadily gaining prominence ever since he joined the Bay Area powerhouse indie label Livewire Records. In the first 8 months of 2011, Rue has already released 3 full length albums (Stars & Straps, Syrup & Kush & The Street Album), he has performed over two dozen times in CA, OH, IN and NV, and has received hundreds of thousands of views on the 20+ music videos he's starred or featured in online. Lil Rue's most recent video for the single "Struggle" which features another Bay Area legend The Jacka along with Fed-X and Young Lox premiered on worldstarhiphop.com two weeks ago and has already received over 33 thousand hits. Rue was also named to the 2011 Bay Area Freshmen Ten on Thizzler.com in June of this year.
