New American Indian Artist’s Registry Premieres in Chicago

The American Indian Association of Illinois, in Chicago will premiere the new American Indian Artist's Registry, this fall. This creative initiative explores and presents the American Indian arts.

(Free-Press-Release.com) February 20, 2011 -- The American Indian Association of Illinois, in Chicago will premiere the new American Indian Artist's Registry, this fall. This creative initiative is organized to explore and present the arts, crafts, dance, music and oral traditions of the Native Americans whose presence have defined a unique human vision in north America since pre-historic times. The AIAI Artist's registry highlights over 50 traditional and modern artists, with an emphasis on esthetics, authenticity, purpose and tribal foundations.

The new Black Hawk Performance Company will premiere with the Artist's Registry. American Indian dancers, drummers and singers of all ages will delight audiences around the world with their unique performances. This company is housed within the AIAI-Chicago American Indian Museum Without Walls.

Another featured artist will be Zeke Peynetsa, from Zuni/Isleta Pueblos. Zeke is a fluent speaker of the Zuni and Isleta language, as well as a championship dancer, singer, featherwork, gourd painter and beadwork artist. The Black Hawk Performance Company and Zeke, along with other Native artists are available to schools and organizations to help them learn more about American Indian cultures.
