New Basketball Sport Promoted as Basketball WITHOUT Backboards Announces 2011 Streetball Tour.

Phoenix, Arizona, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 10, 2011 -- Peach Basket Development, LLC the promoters of a new basketball sport called Basketball-the-Remix (Basketball without backboards) announced today their plans to launch a national streetball tour and tournament this summer. Basketball-the-Remix, promoted as basketball without backboards, mixes characteristics from netball, European basketball, hockey and soccer. The national tour will go through New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Houston, Denver, Portland, Oakland, Los Angeles and Phoenix, AZ.

Basketball-the-Remix’s inaugural national streetball tour, “No Backboard: The Movement Tour” will launch with an eight team tournament in Phoenix, Arizona. Formatted as a grassroots reality game show, each competition will broadcast live over the Internet and repackaged as a 10 minute webisode for on demand viewing. “We wanted to create a way to connect and educate the streetball audience about The REMIX in a fun, hip and most important in a compelling way” said Mark Armstrong, Managing Partner of Peach Basket Development. “Our webisode is AND1 Mixtape Tour meets American Gladiators, creating a new compelling skill challenge for urban basketball player. Through the webisode we hope to generate enough buzz, conversation and interest to make No Backboard: The Movement Tour an overwhelming success our first year.”

With a focus of exploiting the Internet, all tour events are streamed live online. In addition, an ultra-reality show around the tour and national tournament is in development. The reality show follows your typical reality show format with a twist. “We plan on making each player a content creator. The integration of tournament event content with social media content created by our players and their developing fan base will be something new on the streetball level,” said Armstrong.

The national tour and tournament launches in June from Phoenix, Arizona. Unlike traditional streetball tours, the No Backboard: The Movement Tour is formatted as a nationwide tournament. Each tour stop is a two day event that includes both public Open Runs so everyone can experience playing basketball without backboards and a competitive open for tournament participants. Each tournament is a competition between TEAM REMIX out of Phoenix, Arizona and seven streetball crews representing the local city.

The No Backboard: The Movement Tour will conclude with a Tournament of Champions in October in Phoenix, AZ. The final event of the tour is a competition among the best teams from each toured city. “We know our new game is compelling and players across the country will want to test their skills.
